The summer pause begins to be over, and our courses are about start again. Please remember to inform our office about any changes in your e-mail address or other contact data.

FM II A August 22-23, 2015

FM II A course focuses on chronic silent inflammation, impaired mitochondrial function and defective methylation reactions (e.g., what are they, what do they cause, where do they lead to, how can they be cured and measured). FM II A course forms the basis for functional medicine education. The course is very interesting but also very challenging, and it will enable you to proceed in all future FM education.

A course letter together with an invoice has been mailed. If you have registered for the revision or you are a student of 2015-2016 but have not got the letter, please contact the office promptly. If you still want to attend, please contact the office, and we will immediately send you a letter.

FM V A August 29-30, 2015

After a long and earnest wait, a new continuation course – the gut continuation course – will be added to our education entity within a few weeks.

The gut continuation course acquaints us with the most important bacterial groups in different parts of the gastrointestinal tract during the human life span, and with the impact of food on the gut microbiota. The course also deals with the communication between the gut microbes, and with the signaling between the epithelium and the microbes as well as with the most common parasitic infections (amebiasis) and the antiparasitic drugs. We acquaint ourselves with the gut-brain axis in the light of the most recent research results, with the impact of the gut microbiota and gut health on the local nervous system of the bowel, on the central nervous system and neurotransmitters, and thereby on emotions, moods and behavior. We also study the structure, function and regulation of the tight junctions of the intestinal epithelium and the blood-brain barrier. The course also deals with the impact of the gut microbiota on the diseases of central nervous system. Furthermore, we study autism and the impact of gut health on autism from the functional medicine viewpoint. The course also includes a panel where the participants can ask questions about the subjects.

A course letter together with an invoice has been mailed. If you have registered but have not got the letter, please contact the office promptly. Due to some cancellations, there are still a few vacancies, so if you want to participate, please contact the office soonest.

NUTRITION SCIENCE COURSES ONLINE – FALL 2015

In the fall, our course entity will have a newcomer, Nutrition Science Online Courses. The Nutrition Science courses of Pro Health Oy will be unique! The courses will deal with issues of most benefit to the students – not what we are ’forced’ to teach. The price has not yet been fixed but the estimate for the entity is about 500 euros.  You can study at your own pace and take exams when you want, also online.

If you want to register for the Nutrition Science Online Courses, please contact the office under the title ‘Nutrition Science / Registration’.

CASE COURSE September 12-13, 2015

The course handles general issues related to customer meetings such as the use of matrix, questionnaires, screening the customer’s story including diet, guidance and follow-up. Then we move on to the actual main issue of the course, i.e. we start dealing with the cases as team work.

The course is compulsory to those who aim to become an FM Practitioner, Nutrition Advisor or FM Nutrition Coach but also interesting and important to other participants. This fall, the course is arranged as a two-day course at the participants’ request.

FM II B October 3-4, 2015

Please note the change in the schedule of FM II B course. Due to the fall vacation week, at the participants’ request, we had to bring the course forward by one week from Oct. 10-11. Changes are extremely rare. We hope that this suits your timetable.

FM II B course deals with impaired immunity and hormonal imbalance from the functional medicine viewpoint. In addition to nonspecific and specific immunity, we get acquainted with, e.g., the great importance of immune balance in the optimization of health (overactivity – autoimmunity/allergy; underactivity – cancer/infections), cytokines and their importance to as well as the impact of different food additives on the immune protection. As to the hormonal imbalance, we learn the importance of various hormones to our wellbeing and get acquainted with functional laboratory analyses in order to detect and cure hormonal imbalances.

FM II C November 21-22, 2015

FM II C course teaches us to apply functional medicine on practice and deals with allergies, atopic eczema, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia from the functional medicine viewpoint. We also compare the treatment methods of functional medicine to those of conventional medicine and naturally acquaint ourselves with the functional medicine tests.

FM II C course is the last one in the fall followed by a short pause for Christmas. We hope to also have many participants who want brush up their knowledge and enjoy studying together with us.

You are warmly welcome to start the courses again after the summer pause with joy and full steam.
